After the release of the new trailer for Christoper Nolan’s Tenet, Warner Bros. has released the official synopsis for the long-awaited film.

But just as the polished trailer is full of slick yet baffling action, the synopsis answers few questions about the John David Washington film.

And the possibility itself makes the film look even more mysterious than anything Tenet has seen so far.

The synopsis released is quite simple.

Tenet is, as you can see, an international espionage adventure with the fate of the world in balance but the mechanics of the film and what its devastating threat is that makes things complicated and confusing.

And there is only one thing in the clear synopsis, that Tenet is not a film about time travel.

Check out the full official synopsis of Tenet here:

“Armed with only one word – Tenet – and fighting for the survival of the entire world, the protagonist travels through the twilight world of international espionage on a mission that will unfold in something that transcends real time. Not time travel. Reversal.”

What is inversion? Obviously the fans didn’t know and it was something that sounded like a mysterious concept even for movie stars.

Washington explained in a recent interview that he had to ask Nolan a variety of questions every day to help him track down the story.

“Every day I have a question for him,” Washington said as the recent Fortnite trailer appeared.

“But he was very friendly and he answered very calmly and patiently. It is important for the actors to trace the story properly so that we can tell it in the best way we can, and he is very patient with us,” explained Washington.

“I said that very (laughs) and politely,” he added.

Knowing that this film is not a time travel film, of course this is a mystery.

Tenet, originally scheduled for release on July 17, 2020, is said to be constant amid the Covid-19 pandemic.

However, the latest trailer only states that the film will be released in theaters soon without stating a release date.

The film’s official social media accounts have also deleted the release date from their uploads.
